I've been away from Critical Madness for a while, however I've kept up with a lot of awesome metal for Moshville Times in the past few months. First and foremost, Team Moshville made our annual trip to Bloodstock where we wrecked our necks and covered the festival. Besides having a headbanging good time and discovering some cool new bands, I reviewed the festival (Saturday and Sunday will make it online eventually!) and interviewed a few bands while I was there.

I've also done a few album reviews too, a series of killer cuts from some old-skool thrash legends! I enjoyed all of them and I reckon they're all serious contenders for the top albums of the year across all the metal press.

So there's been many months of metal, and many more to come! There's plenty of gigs in Glasgow coming up I hope to make it to, the first being Exhorder on the 9th of October! There's also still a few records I hope to review, including some non-metal for Critical Madness, so watch this space!
As a final note, I want to share this picture of me with Eluveite (who I interviewed, though the interview is still with Moshville Times Editorial) in the press area at Bloodstock - I don't take many photos but this one is definitely one of my favourites!
This year has been my sixth Bloodstock and I feel like it's a home away from home, a place where I can mosh and sing to my heart's content, all while working further towards a career in the metal media and meet lots of awesome people. I want to say thanks to Iain, Ross, Aidan, Sean L and Drew from Moshville Times for the fun time working together again this year. Also to the queens of Bloodstock, Kirsten and Michelle from Cosa Nostra PR, for allowing us the opportunity to cover the festival again, all the bands and their respective PR for the pleasure of meeting them and working with them, and finally to Claire from Nuclear Blast for setting up the Eluveite interview and taking the photo.
As for next year's Bloodstock you can be sure I'll be there again, especially with the announcement of Vio-lence, Sacred Reich and Devin Townsend! I can't wait to see who else is added to the lineup, and I'll see you in the pit next August!
